The stress of Exercise

Fast aging due to high levels of intense exercise

Over the years the rise of boot camps, marathons, crossFIT and mud runs has placed particular focus on how far we can push our bodies to their limits. Just like any SMART goal there should be balance in your decisions. Filling the trophy cabinet can be fun but also detrimental to your health. One of the main reasons why my family and I take juice plus is to combat oxidative damage control. This occurs at rapid rates when exercising at high levels. Think of the muscles like boiling water or getting a sun tan. Once you've done the minimum amount required you burn. Your muscles work the same way. Once you have demanded the minimum amount required to create a response then it's time for recovery. Returning to high exercise demands before the body has had a chance to properly recover you begin to dig into reserve stores which are put aside for recovery processes. Your body will see this as a threat and stress levels therefore increase. Certain levels and types of stress are required to achieve results but when the levels of stress contusion surpasses the levels of growth hormones then you will not get your intended results. Ever been exercising and worrying about your diet? Has much else happend other than stressing yourself out? Chances are all you've felt is tired, irritable, stressed and even weaker? This is a sign you are exercising too much. Even though exercise releases a certain number of feel good endorphins high levels of increased stress isn't doing the body any good at all. So if you've hit a flat in your training and or Weight loss regime try something new and have a break. Relax at the beach, try Pilates or Yoga even Meditation. I certainly won't be labelling you as lazy, just smart. Escape the guilt, reassess where your at, why and how your going to approach the next leap. Variety is the key to success as is balance. You'll also find you'll have a new lease on life, more energy, clearer thinking. Smarter choices after a full week off. Enjoy and Goodluck.
