Michelle Dexter

Michelle has trained and worked in the health and fitness industry for the body and mind more than 15 years. Highly trained and experienced having come from an elite sporting background. Michelle trained in Tennis and Horse Riding as a young girl and when completing high school - trained as a Specialised Fitness Trainer. She also worked as a tennis coach and school fitness centre manager at the same time as moving into sports specific programming for athletes. Playing sport, 1-1 training and writing sports programs along the way all play an integral part in the skilled and knowledgable way Michelle is able to work with all ages, fitness levels and provide a thorough program to suit everyone’s unique differences. With the diverse range of continuing education Michelle has completed throughout the years, this is what also combines making Michelle the wholesome balanced all round trainer she is. On this journey it has become obvious that health and fitness are not complete without proper recovery of not only the body but the mind too. For this reason, Michelle entered the journey into Mind-body - soul training where Pilates and Yoga immersed and Remedial Massage followed. Michelle’s clients are always taught with their health and well being in mind. Clients always leave a class feeling energised, relaxed and well balanced.

Mind and Body

Michelle combines both imagery and anatomy to paint a picture with her explanation making it easy to visualise correct technique in Mind-Body classes so you can relax and enjoy the hour. Also using correct anatomical terms followed with the recognisable term, you will become familiar with your body and how it works in movement with regular demonstration and corrections along the way. Pausing for moments will allow you to find the time to breathe, stabilise and increase flexibility as you become aware how your body is feeling at present and during the transitions, getting to know your body and how Michelle can help you. Always with a smile, Michelle is dedicated, proactive, reliable and always on the ball. The word ‘Quirky’ also belongs in any description of Michelle.

Tailored Programmes

As a mother of 2 and the knowledge combined, pre and post natal training provide support in any Pilates and or Yoga class you may join in on during or after having a baby. Michelle’s classes are differentiated from the rest. Not always do we have the perfect pregnancy and or labour when life throws you a curve ball but Michelle will ensure that you continue on the journey to your healthy, happy and strong self again. With a wide sporting background and working in a school for 8 years Michelle is highly recommended by sporting enthusiasts and in particular Premier Soccer League players and International Swimming Champions for the nutritional guidance, program design and massage rehab Michelle can provide to specifically target each and every one of your needs.

With the experience in working with small and large group Pilates, Yoga and Functional Fitness classes, Michelle has come to realise that ‘small groups’ allows plenty of time to get around to every person in the class assessing everybody's unique differences and needs. This has been known to help you achieve your goals faster and prevent injury that can occur otherwise through poor technique. With every class carefully planned out, these small group classes held in BE Energised Studio, North Avoca it makes plenty of room for adjustments with each and every person’s physical limitations.

A body free from nervous stress and fatigue is the ultimate shelter nature intended for housing a balanced mind, fully capable of dealing with life’s stresses.
